I love Banneker Pool! Spacious, beautiful pool.
I only made it to two different pools this year. DC seems to have doubled the number of lounge chairs at both pools. So much better!
One of the nicer public pools in DC for lap swimmers with a 50-m long lap pool. Given the amount of deck space, it is usually crowded with sunbathers, but around 5/6 PM on weekdays, the pool is quite crowded, so be ready to circle swim.
Like other DC pools, it is free for DC residents with a $3-$7 fee for nonresidents.
The locker rooms have over 100 lockers, although I would recommend bringing your bag onto the deck with you since most public pools are notorious for thievery.
The showers have nice water pressure but many are missing shampoo containers. They also have some pretty nice temperatures too. The biggest perk is they have installed a water filtration system to fill up water bottles.
DC resident of 35 years and lived in the neighborhood all my life and this is my first time here. I love it. It wasn’t too safe here way back when, but it’s good now lol
The pool is very nice! I've been come to this pool for 30years I love it so much. But now in 2023 I'm never going back after what I experience on yesterday. The white people can have it.
Awesome perk of living in the District. Public pool that is huge, clean and plenty of seating– but get there early or you’ll be laying on concrete. Attracting a wide array of District residents, this place remains a staple in th swampy summers.
Love this pool!! The 50 meter lap lanes are great because even when you share with multiple people, there is enough length that you aren't on top of each other. Don't bring valuables in, when I was there last week a woman's bag was stolen while she swam. Mornings are the best time to come, it gets crowded in the afternoons.
Lots of chairs and fun vibe. Free admission for dc residents. If you are a dc resident but don’t have a dc drivers license, bring a screenshot/copy of your lease to prove residency
Great pool, but short staffed. Had to stop swimming due to lack of lifeguards.
